The Why Behind QuotyAI

Why I'm building an AI that calculates correctly instead of just sounding smart. A personal story about broken tools and what happens when you refuse to accept 95% accuracy.

I like AI. Not the “write me a marketing email” AI. The AI that actually solves real, annoying problems that everyone just accepts as normal.

Last month I was in Bali. Found a perfect homestay on Facebook Messenger. Sent a message. Waited.

3 hours later they replied. In Indonesian.

I don’t speak Indonesian.

I copied it into Google Translate. Replied back. Waited another 4 hours. They asked another question. This went on for 3 days. For a $20/night room.

This experience shouldn’t exist in 2026.

The Moment I Knew

Before QuotyAI, I worked at superbench.ai. We built vertical AI SaaS for sales and scheduling. On the AI side we did all the things everyone does. RAG. Prompt engineering. Agent chains. It worked. Sort of.

Every single demo had that moment. The sales rep would go “and now watch it calculate the price
” and hold their breath.

95% of the time it worked. 5% of the time it hallucinated. We all just accepted this as “how AI works”. We couldn’t solve it, so we focused on CRM features and vertical integrations.

But I couldn’t stop thinking about that 5%.

If a human employee got the price wrong 1 out of 20 times, you’d fire them. If a cash register gave the wrong change 5% of the time, you’d replace it. But because it’s AI, we shrug and say “well, it’s pretty good.”

Why is 95% acceptable for AI when it’s unacceptable for everything else?

What Everyone Gets Wrong

Here’s what I learned: almost every AI sales tool on the market right now is a fancy autocomplete.

They take your question. They look up some context. They guess what the answer should be.

That’s fine for writing emails. That’s not fine for telling a customer their booking costs $247.

When a customer asks “how much for 3 nights in April?” there is exactly one correct answer. Not 10 probably correct answers. One.

Your AI should give that one answer. Every single time. And the answer should have your company’s tone, and you should know why this decision was made and adjust it if you don’t like it.

This is common sense. Every small business owner who has stared at their Facebook Messenger inbox at 11pm knows this. Every hotel manager who has had to correct 3 AI pricing mistakes in one day knows this. Every solo founder who spends 4 hours a day answering the same 5 questions knows this.

The problem isn’t that people don’t want this. The problem is that until now, no one has built it properly.

How QuotyAI Is Different

QuotyAI doesn’t guess. It codes.

When you tell it “rooms are $50/night, $20 cleaning fee, 10% off over 7 nights” it doesn’t save that as text. It writes executable code. Then it runs it. Exactly. Every single time.

No hallucinations. No discounts you didn’t approve. Just math. Correct math.

And that’s only half the problem. Then we have the boring parts — three critical components that every “AI Inbox” tool is missing:

  1. A real business rules knowledge base, connected to the tools you already use. Not RAG.
  2. An omnichannel inbox that doesn’t just store messages, but extracts perfectly accurate structured data every time.
  3. Full decision transparency into every decision, not just the final reply.

You need all three working together. Without it, you don’t have a product. You have a demo.

Every business rule is code, every conversation is structured, every interaction is tracked. This isn’t just an inbox. It extracts every piece of data that matters to your business. You don’t need dashboards. You don’t need reports. You don’t need a data team. You just ask “how much revenue did we lose last month from unapplied discounts?” and it tells you. Exactly.

This is the kind of capability that used to cost $10,000/month in enterprise software. Now any cafe owner, any homestay operator, any solo founder can have it.

Why I’m Building This

I travel a lot. Right now I’m in Vietnam. Tomorrow I might be in Chiang Mai. Next month maybe Lisbon.

This is not a startup that needs 10 million in funding. This is not a startup that needs a 50 person team.

This is a tool for people like me. Solo founders. Small business owners. People who run homestays. People who run cafes. People who are tired of spending half their day answering the same questions on 5 different messaging apps.

I’m not building this to get acquired. I’m building this because I need it. Because every time I wait 3 hours for a Facebook Messenger reply in a language I don’t speak, I think “this should not exist in 2026.”

I didn’t do market research. I didn’t run surveys. I didn’t interview 50 potential customers. This is not a new idea. Everyone already wants this — they just expect it to be simple and cheap.

And it should be.

The Roadmap

Right now: All three pieces work together. It answers questions correctly on Facebook, Telegram, Instagram, WhatsApp, and voice. It calculates prices correctly. It books appointments correctly. It keeps full conversation history across every channel. It lets you take over any conversation at any time. It lets you update your facts, prices, menus, and rules in 30 seconds. It connects to your existing calendars and systems. It extracts exactly the data your business needs, not generic statuses. It shows you exactly how every reply was generated.

Next: It will check your calendar. It will update your inventory. It will take payments. It will do all the things you currently pay 3 different tools $100/month each to do badly.

If you’re tired of AI that lies. If you’re tired of waiting 3 hours for replies. If you’re tired of tools that promise the world and deliver 30% of it.

You’re in the right place.

I’m building this in public. Every mistake. Every win. Every late night coding session. You can try it for free and bring your own API key — no credit card required.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did you build QuotyAI? I was tired of waiting 3 hours for a Facebook Messenger reply in a language I don’t speak, for a $20/night room. Every AI tool I tried either hallucinated prices or couldn’t handle the basics. So I built the tool I needed.

What platforms does QuotyAI support? QuotyAI natively integrates with Facebook Messenger, Telegram, Instagram, WhatsApp, and voice calls, with full conversation history synchronization across all channels.
